Business Services Provided by Neuro Programming Research
In life science research, we support researchers by combining our knowledge of biology and IT technology. Our main services include creating control programs for experimental equipment and building image capture devices. Below is a detailed explanation of our business services.
Programming Support for Building Experimental Equipment
One type of animal behavioral experiment uses eye movements. This experiment measures the reflex movements of a mouse's eyes using a camera. In this experiment, we investigate the brain's control mechanisms behind eye movements. This experiment requires tasks such as building a system to move a turntable or screen, and analyzing the eye movements captured by the camera. However, unlike a T-maze, refined equipment that integrates hardware and software has not yet been established for this kind of experimental setup.
Therefore, it is common for researchers themselves to build the equipment and control the experiments. By using a standard computer and an analog output board, turntables and screens can be moved in tandem. We provide support for the "programming required when building customized experimental equipment." We can handle programming languages for researchers such as LabVIEW and MATLAB, as well as widely used languages like C and C++.
The above is an example of "measuring eye movements," but there are many other situations where researchers create their own equipment. If sophisticated software like that for a T-maze is available, it can be handled by purchasing it. But if not, you ultimately have to create it yourself.
In such situations, we want to support researchers by fully utilizing our knowledge of biology and IT technology. Please consider outsourcing to us for building the programming essential for research, such as animal behavioral experiments.
Building Image Capture Devices
An image bundle type micro-endoscope system uses an optical fiber called an image bundle to capture observation images. The end face of the fiber is scanned, the excitation light is converted into an electrical signal by a photomultiplier tube, and the data is input into an analog input board to capture the image. We build programs that convert the data captured by the analog input board into easy-to-view images (or videos).
In addition to that, we also propose combinations with other experimental equipment. For example, applications such as capturing images in sync with electrical stimulation or in sync with the timing of foot shock stimulation are also possible.
Furthermore, we also handle the construction of systems that record animal behavior using inexpensive webcams and analyze the data. If you are struggling with building image capture devices that are essential for your research, please consult with us first.
Please consult us for programming in the life sciences field, including animal behavioral experiments. In addition to the above services, we create all kinds of programs.
